Objectify

A print needs a closed mesh, not a rig.

Printing starts with a mesh you can close, then an STL or a 3MF. STL is the mesh most slicers expect. 3MF can carry material information when exporter and slicer support it. Both are on Pro. A skeleton does not help a slicer.

Generate the part, then check the surface

A prompt or a reference image gets you the form. Inspect open boundaries, intersecting surfaces, and thin walls before export. Some slicers attempt repairs, but an automatic repair may change the part; review the result rather than relying on it.

Hollow or scale before you download if you want to save material. That decision belongs to the print, not to the prompt.

STL or 3MF

STL is the mesh-only file PrusaSlicer, Bambu Studio, and most other slicers open. Use it for a single material.

3MF can represent material assignments, but the exported file and receiving slicer must support the same features. Verify the assignments after import. Pro lists both formats, so the format decision alone does not require Studio.

What you can skip

A figurine does not need a rig, and it does not need FBX. Those are for an engine. Export the print file and leave the skeleton off.

Pro includes commercial use, text to 3D, image to 3D, texturing, and remesh. Studio is the plan when the same asset also has to walk in a game.

Limits to check before delivery

Generated geometry is not certified for fit, load-bearing use, or printer tolerances. A closed mesh may still contain walls too thin to manufacture. Material or color metadata can be lost when exporter and slicer do not share the same 3MF support.

Handoff checklist

Set a known final dimension and inspect wall thickness, drainage needs, and support surfaces. Review sliced layers for missing features and isolated islands. Produce a small test print before a full run, especially when fit or fine details matter.
